Johor Darul Ta’Zim, crowned 10th title after beating PDRM FC with a score of 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
The series of wins by JDT, who dominated the game, was so obvious when they often attacked the stronghold of Datuk Yunus Aliff’s squad that the PDRM FC was forced to take action to contain the JDT attack line led by captain Bergson Da Silva, Heberty Fernandes, and Arif Aiman .
When the action entered the 36th minute, Bergson was forced to agree with the referee’s decision, Fitri Maskon canceled his goal after Matthew Davies, who kicked a cross from the right wing position, was in an offside position.
However, that didn’t break Bergson’s enthusiasm a minute later after scoring a goal for JDT when he received Afiq Fazail’s through ball to beat Ramdhan to put the South Tiger squad in front.
As if to vent their anger at the PDRM FC, who were acting together, the South Tigers doubled their score in the 40th minute following Davies’ ball from a cross to Juan Muniz, who hit a fastball that killed Ramdhan.
Continuing the second half, PDRM FC almost closed the goal gap in the 49th minute after Fakhrul Azim Zulphatah managed to snatch the ball from Muniz’s feet and was quick to catch the loose ball but the goalkeeper, Ahmad Syihan Hazmi Mohamed, lay down to catch the ball neatly.
JDT added to the misery of the Cops squad in the 54th minute after Fitri did not hesitate to award a penalty kick after detecting Izaaq Izhan Yuswadi pulling Arif Aiman in the penalty box and Arif who took the kick easily beat Ramdhan.
There was no mercy for PDRM FC when Solari’s team scored the fourth goal of the match in the 57th minute following Fernandes’ header in the middle of the pitch, seeing substitute Fernando Forestieri bypass the offside trap and hit the ball directly into the right corner of the goal to beat Ramdhan.
This result saw JDT emerge as league champions after winning 4-0 with four matches remaining this season.
