KL Rovers, a club in Liga M3, confirmed that they are fully prepared financially and in preparation for the team if given a national license to play in the Liga Super Malaysia season 2024/25 by the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
Ashraf Mazlan, Director of KL Rovers FC Sdn Bhd, confirmed had completed all the criteria determined by the league’s controlling body and hoped that the decision regarding the Liga Super Malaysia license would be known as soon as possible.
Previously, KL Rovers was one of three Liga M3 teams who successfully submitted applications for extraordinary licenses until the deadline to join the Liga Super Malaysia for the season 2024/25.
Previously, MFL gave the Liga M3 team the opportunity to resubmit an extraordinary license application after the First Instance Body (FIB) and the MFL Club Licensing Committee (AB) rejected Kelantan FC’s application for a national license to compete in the Liga Super Malaysia season 2024/25.
“We have new partners, and the process of privatizing our team is almost complete. In terms of budget, we have put forward a minimum budget of RM5 million as previously requested by the MFL.” Director of KL Rovers said.
“Indeed, we already have the budget just to prepare the team, and we will decide on several more prospective sponsors so we can move to the next step. We hope this decision (to act in the Liga Super Malaysia) can be announced immediately.”
“This is to make it easier for us to finalize negotiations with them. Basically, we are ready to go to the Super League, and our preparations follow Super League standards but are not too excessive,”
“We are also in line with Tunku Ismail’s suggestions in this matter, and we are also waiting for agreement with several parties. I can say it is almost 90%.”
“If we don’t have good luck (fail to advance to the Liga Super Malaysia), we will continue to play in the Liga M3, but it’s a shame because our preparations have led to that direction,”
