Kuala Lumpur City has official statement to expresses sadness to incidents during match Piala FA Malaysia 2023 Final between Johor Darul Ta’Zim vs Kuala Lumpur City at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri in 22 July 2023.
The club said in a statement that it sympathizes with the supporters and members of the victim’s family who were impressed by the unfortunate incident. and also offered any form of assistance to the victims and is willing to cooperate with the authorities in investigating the incident.
“Kuala Lumpur City Football Club expresses profound sadness and deep regret over the incidents that took place during the FA Cup Final last Saturday at Stadium Sultan Ibrahim, Johor. Our hearts go out to the affected fans and their families who were impacted by the unfortunate altercation with the ground security personnel. We stand in solidarity with our fans during this difficult time and are committed to offering any assistance possible.” KL City said in official statement.
“We condemn all acts of violence, aggression, criminal damage, and trespass, irrespective of whether it involves our own supporters or others. The unnecessary use of extreme force inside and outside the stadium has overshadowed the excitement of the keenly contested game on the pitch and has no place in the world of sports.”
“Our thoughts are with the members of the City Boys family who witnessed the distressing events and were impacted by them. To the fans who were harmed, we extend our sincerest support and assistance.”
“We are fully prepared to cooperate with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in their investigation of the incidents, following the police report lodged by one of the affected fans. We urge any witnesses with evidence to come forward and help us ensure justice is served for the victim. In addition, we will be holding meetings with a number of supporters who experienced the situation firsthand, to gather their perspectives on the unfortunate events. We deeply appreciate your cooperation and trust that the PDRM will take the appropriate actions.”
