Selangor FC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Katsuhito Kinoshi as its new Head Coach replaced Nidzam Jamil, who resigned.
Known for his exceptional tactical acumen and extensive international coaching experience, Kinoshi is poised to guide the Red Giants toward a new chapter of success. With a proven track record in team-building, strategy, and youth development, his arrival signals a bold step forward for the club’s ambitions.
Born in Tokyo, Kinoshi’s coaching journey has been enriched by working alongside some of football’s most esteemed figures. His collaborations with Dragan Stankovic, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and Akira Nishino have shaped a unique coaching philosophy, blending tactical discipline with creative attacking play.
Kinoshi’s partnership with Serbian tactician Dragan Stankovic was pivotal in his coaching evolution. During their tenure at Nagoya Grampus (2008–2014), Kinoshi mastered the art of defensive organization and mental resilience.
Their collaboration continued with the Serbian national team (2021–2024), where they achieved notable successes, including topping Group 4 of the UEFA Nations League B 2022/23, earning promotion to the elite League A. They also guided Serbia to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, delivering memorable performances against top-tier teams like Brazil and Switzerland.
Kinoshi further honed his craft under Giovanni van Bronckhorst during their time at Guangzhou City (2015–2021). Renowned for his attacking flair, van Bronckhorst imparted lessons on high-pressing systems, rapid transitions, and adaptable game plans. These strategies were instrumental in shaping Kinoshi’s modern, flexible approach to football tactics, emphasizing both entertainment and effectiveness.
