Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has appointed Kim Pan-Gon, South Korean football manager to a new head coach of Malaysia national team.
Pan-Gon’s in football coach careers is South Korea national team supervisory committee. and the AFC Professional Football Coaching Diploma and have been experience head coach with Hong Kong national team.
Hong Kong in era of Pan-Gon’s also twice met the Malayan Tigers squad in 2017 which was then coached by Nelo Vingada in Group B, 2019 Asian Cup Qualifiers where the action at Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka ended in a 1-1 draw and the action in Hong Kong, Malaysia lost 2-0.
In addition, Pan-Gon’s have been work with club in in Hong Kong Premier League with Rangers, South China and assistan coach of Busan I’Park and Gyeongnam FC in K League.
However, FAM expected Pan-Gon’s to arrive in Malaysia in early February 2022 with four of his assistants, namely an assistant coach, a goalkeeper coach, a fitness coach and an analyst.
He and his coaching staff after that will start monitoring the players as soon as the Malaysia League 2022 competition begins for the first call of the central training camp in March 2022 in preparation for the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers, in June.
