Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team expects the new players in 2 friendly matches before AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 to be able to follow the philosophy and game model that coincides with ‘Malaysian DNA’, and take advantage of these two friendly actions to conduct an ‘experiment’ to assess whether the players are really ready or not.
“We want these players to be more dynamic, progressive, and dominate the ball no matter which player comes in,” Kim said in a pre-match press conference today.
“What’s important is consistency and we don’t put any pressure. Just enjoy this match and show what they have,”
In the same development, Darren Lok, a striker from Sabah FC admitted that the presence of old faces can help new faces understand the style of play they want to apply.
“There are players who come early, so they have enough time to prepare. Of course it’s a good combination of old faces, new faces and young players.”
“What is important is that players get game minutes and real matches are the best way to ensure that players can understand what the coaching staff wants,”
