Johor Darul Ta’Zim starting pre-season in Spain beating Real Murcia B, a club in Tercera Division(Spanish 5th Division) scoring 4-0 in the Friendly Match.
Currently on a three-week pre-season training camp in Spain, JDT are scheduled to play eight warm-up matches as part of their preparations for the upcoming domestic and continental campaigns. Their first match took place on Sunday at the Melia Villaitana Training Centre, where they squared off against the Spanish side’s reserve team.
Head coach Xisco Muñoz handed starting opportunities to several new recruits, including Jon Irazabal, Antonio Glauder, Hector Hevel, and Jairo Da Silva, all of whom featured in JDT’s starting XI. The 33-year-old Jairo, signed last month from Pafos FC, wasted no time in making an impression.
After Bergson Da Silva opened the scoring as early as the 5th minute, Jairo doubled the lead in the 20th minute with a confident finish, marking a perfect start to his tenure in the JDT shirt.
In the second half, it was Romel Morales, the Harimau Malaya striker, who stole the spotlight, adding two more goals to seal the dominant 4-0 result for the reigning Malaysian Super League champions.
The win not only showcased JDT’s attacking depth but also provided valuable minutes for new signings and returning stars in a competitive setting.
JDT will continue their Spanish tour with a second pre-season test against Costa City on Monday, July 7, at the Estadi Olímpic Camilo Cano.
