Playing with confidence and composure at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the Malaysian duo delivered another fearless performance, overcoming the reigning Indonesia Open champions in straight games 21-17, 21-17 in just 39 minutes.
The victory further strengthens Jimmy and Su Yin’s growing reputation as one of badminton’s newest “giant-killers.”
The latest triumph marks an extraordinary milestone for the Malaysian pair, who have now defeated three different world Top-10 pairs since being paired together.
After upsetting the tournament’s sixth seeds Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue of France in a thrilling Round of 16 clash earlier this week, Jimmy and Su Yin have now eliminated another elite European partnership to move within one win of their first-ever Super 750 final.

Standing between the Malaysians and a dream final appearance are Hong Kong’s world No. 8 pair Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet, who secured their semi-final berth after defeating China’s Jiang Zheng Bang and Wei Ya Xin 21-17, 21-13.
While Tang and Tse possess far greater experience, Jimmy and Su Yin have already shown throughout this tournament that rankings mean little once they step onto court.
