Prior to the sponsorship, HRH Tunku Ismail has previously lent the National Stadium a canvas from JDT’s Larkin Stadium to cover and protect the Bukit Jalil field from heavy downpours ahead of key Harimau Malaya matches and Cup finals. HRH Crown Prince of Johor also consented for national team to utlise the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium and JDT Training Centre, which are the best football facilities in the region.
His Royal Highness has always emphasised the need for quality football pitches and facilities in order to elevate Malaysian football, and that are among the foundations to JDT’s rise to become Southeast Asia’s leading football club. HRH Tunku Ismail also urged all football stadiums in the country to place the same importance in order to uplift standards nationwide.

The new pitch is set to be used for the first time when Malaysia take on India in the Merdeka Tournament tomorrow. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
