Hector Bidoglio, head coach of Johor Darul Ta’Zim will promise an interesting action for both teams, and the JDT players are now working hard to meet Shanghai Shenhua in the AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25 League Stage(East zone) matchday 2 tomorrow.
During the pre-match press conference, Bidoglio expressed his team’s readiness and hard work ahead of the crucial game:
“This will be a difficult and interesting match, but we are more focused on ourselves, and the players are now working hard for that.”
Bidoglio highlighted JDT’s focus on the opposition’s strength in dead-ball situations, noting the importance of set pieces in determining the outcome of high-stakes matches. Shanghai Shenhua’s height advantage, particularly in aerial duels, has been a point of emphasis in JDT’s preparations.
“Set pieces are very important in football now. With one set piece, you can determine victory or defeat in a match,” Bidoglio stated. “We know the opposition have tall and dangerous players, and we are improving this situation because we also have players who are good in the air.”
Accompanied by Jordi Amat at the press conference, Bidoglio shared that his squad is aware of the physical challenges posed by their Chinese opponents, but is confident in their ability to counter those threats.
AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25 League Stage, West zone matchday 2 between Johor Darul Ta’Zim vs Shanghai Shenhua will be held on 1 October 2024 on 8.00 pm, at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri.
