Hector Bidoglio, the head coach of Johor Darul Ta’Zim (JDT), expressed satisfaction with his team’s ability to maintain intensity throughout both halves, leading to a dominant 6-1 victory over Selangor FC in the Piala FA Malaysia 2024/25 final.
The triumph secured JDT’s third consecutive Piala FA Malaysia title, marking a historic achievement for the club at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
Bidoglio acknowledged that while there may have been moments in the second half when JDT lost some ball control, the team still managed to dominate the game overall. He highlighted the players’ fighting spirit and tactical wisdom, particularly in a high-stakes final.
“This shows the potential that JDT has, so we need to continue to work hard and get better,” Bidoglio stated during the post-match media conference.
He also extended his gratitude to Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the team owner, for his unwavering support and credited the players for their outstanding performance.
The final, which was anticipated to be a closely contested match, turned into a one-sided affair as JDT not only secured the championship but also set a new record, becoming the first team to score six goals in a Piala FA Malaysia final since the competition began in 1990.
