Malaysia Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has urged the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to promptly complete its appeal process following FIFA’s recent judgment involving alleged irregularities in player registration.
In her social media statement, Hannah said she had read FIFA’s reasoning and stressed that FAM must act swiftly by officially announcing its intention to appeal and filing it through the proper legal process.
“FAM cannot remain silent and must clearly respond to all the revelations made by FIFA,” she stated, referring to information that has caused widespread confusion and disappointment among Malaysian football supporters.
Acknowledging the emotional impact on fans, she said many Malaysians are hurt, angry, and disappointed, but urged everyone to continue supporting the national team, who will face Laos later this week.
“To our Malaysian players, we are always with you,” Hannah added, expressing solidarity with the Harimau Malaya squad.
Her statement comes amid a series of official responses from both FAM and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged falsification of heritage player registration documents submitted to FIFA.
