FIFA has officially confirmed the training camp bases for participating nations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with teams spread across the United States, Canada and Mexico as preparations begin for the biggest tournament in football history.
The announcement provides a clearer picture of where the world’s elite national teams will be stationed during the competition, with several football powerhouses selecting high-performance facilities in major cities throughout North America.
Defending world champions Argentina will set up camp at the Sporting KC Training Centre in Kansas City, while rivals Brazil chose the Columbia Park Training Facility in the New York-New Jersey region.
England will also be based in Kansas City at Swope Soccer Village, creating one of the tournament’s most high-profile football hubs alongside Argentina and Netherlands, who selected the KC Current Training Facility.
Meanwhile, France opted for Bentley University in Boston, while Germany will prepare at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Asian giants Japan selected Nashville SC’s training centre in Nashville, while South Korea will be based at Chivas Verde Valle in Guadalajara, Mexico.
One of the most notable selections came from Saudi Arabia, who chose Austin FC Stadium in Texas as their preparation headquarters, while Jordan — preparing for a historic World Cup debut — will train at the University of Portland.
Host nation United States selected the Great Park Sports Complex in Irvine, California, while Canada will remain on home soil at the National Soccer Development Centre in Vancouver. Mexico, meanwhile, will operate from the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR) in Mexico City.
Several nations opted for university-based environments to ensure privacy and controlled preparation conditions. Austria chose UC Santa Barbara, Egypt selected Gonzaga University in Spokane, while Senegal will train at Rutgers University in the New York-New Jersey area.
The spread of locations also highlights FIFA’s strategic regional planning, with clusters emerging in Texas, California, the East Coast and Mexico to reduce travel fatigue during the month-long tournament.
For many nations, the selected base camps are more than just training venues — they serve as operational headquarters where teams will recover, analyse opponents and build momentum throughout the tournament.
