Committee of First Instance Body(FIB) informed that Kelantan FC was restricted to player transfer restrictions in the second window that will open on 5 July 2023.
The punishment was handed down following the failure of Kelantan FC to send evidence of EPF contribution payments as well as salary arrears for players and officials (April and May 2023) before the deadlines set to Kelantan FC on 28 June 2023 and 30 June 2023.
This is a separate punishment from any action that can be taken by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) or the International Football Federation (FIFA) regarding complaints in other cases.
“The FIB side has still not received any proof of EPF installment payment (first installment payment) and proof of full salary payment of players and officials (April and May 2023) before the deadline set to Kelantan FC.” Sheikh Mohd Nasir Sheikh Mohd Sharif, FIB Chairman said
“Due to the failure of Kelantan FC to provide proof of the payment, the penalty for restricting the transfer of players in the second window is imposed immediately,”
This ban on player transfers will be lifted if Kelantan FC succeeds in settling the arrears of EPF contributions, players’ and officials’ salaries before the end of the second window on 1 August 2023.
However, the action to withdraw the ban also needs to take into account the decision of FAM and FIFA regarding other cases involving Kelantan FC.
