Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin, President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), confirmed that Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ), owner of the Johor Darul Ta’zim is not interested in holding any position including the new manager of Malaysia National Team.
Today, DHMA said in an interview with the media that TMJ still wants to contribute to helping the Malaysia national team to prepare for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in Qatar next year. during TMJ’s meeting with Hamidin and the national head coach, Kim Pan-gon at the JDT headquarters, a few days ago.
“I was invited with Pan-gon to go to Johor to see Tunku Ismail who wanted to hear and congratulate him on his appointment in FIFA.” DHMA said with the media.
“So in the meeting, he said he was not interested in taking any position including a manager. TMJ wants more of a commitment to help the national team from behind.”
“He wants to help our team including in the preparation for the Asian Cup,”
However, Johor Bahru will be the location of the Malaysia national team’s central training camp in March for preparation international friendly match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri. due to Bukit Jalil National Stadium will be closed for the planting of new Zeon Zoysia grass to replace the cow grass starting next month.
“TMJ also wants to help if Bukit Jalil National Stadium cannot be used and can use the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium while waiting for Bukit Jalil to be fully completed,” Hamidin said.
