Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has taken a significant step forward in its fight to overturn FIFA’s sanctions after officially submitting its Statement of Appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The appeal concerns the disciplinary actions imposed by FIFA on both FAM and seven Harimau Malaya heritage players — an issue that has drawn intense national attention over recent weeks.
In a formal announcement today, FAM confirmed that CAS has set a strict timeline:
FAM’s legal team has until 18 December 2025 — 10 days from now — to present a complete written argument supporting Malaysia’s case.
The decision accelerates the legal process, marking the beginning of a crucial window for FAM to consolidate documents, testimonies, and legal positions before the case proceeds to the next stage.
Acting President Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff Hj Mahadi stressed the governing body’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the appeal is handled with integrity.
“FAM is fully committed to going through this process professionally, transparently, and with complete respect for all legal procedures,” he said.
The national body also assured that all further developments will be communicated from time to time, as the case continues to unfold.
