Esteban Solari, head coach of Johor Darul Ta’Zim, revealed his players lost their motivation after conceding an early goal through a ‘set piece’ move, which affected the players’ concentration, followed by two goals from the opposing team in the first 20 minutes, But had to accept defeat and failed to bring home a positive result.
“A difficult match for us. In fact, within 20 minutes of the first half, we were punished with the first goal as a result of the opponent’s ‘set piece’, and it affected our concentration then two more goals were scored when our goalkeeper (Ahmad Syihan Hazmi) did not touch the ball as soon as the match begins.” Solari said in a post-match press conference.
“But after that, we started to balance the game and create chances in the second half. We could score in the 53rd minute but couldn’t add to the score and accept the result that we lost.”
“I told the players how we didn’t start the game well and conceded three goals. Ulsan (Hyundai) had precision in front of goal this time and they punished us smartly.”
“We played more aggressively in the second half and we have to learn in all things through that match and it even taught us a lesson to get up in the next match,”
