The Malaysian Under-17 Mens Football Team is now in Thailand for the AFC U17 Asian Cup. After losing to Yemen in the first game, Malaysia has yet to convert a win against Thailand in today’s match.
The Malaysia U17 midfielder, Don Damien Derwin, expressed that he is kind of disappointed in today’s game.
“Disappointed because everybody was confident with today’s game and fired up, but yeah, no luck for us.”, said Don Damien in the interview.
Comparing today’s game against the first match against Yemen, he said, “Yeah, our game is much better today. We get to control more, so I think we did better today.”
“To talk about myself, I don’t know how I feel, but it’s a mixed feeling. Everybody said I did great, and I will take it as a compliment.”
Asking about which player is Don Damien’s MVP, he said No. 11 of the Thailand u-17 would be his choice as he sprints fast and skilful.
“Well, thank you, everyone, for the support till this day. Sorry to make you disappointed. We will try our best to do better in the next match.”, said Don Damien in the closing.
Malaysia U17 will face Laos U17 on 21st July 2023.
