Petronas MIE Honda Racing Team has officially unveiled two homegrown talents, Azroy Anuar and Helmi Azman, as Wild Card entries for the Moto2 class at the upcoming PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia, taking place this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit.

Both riders are set to compete in front of their home crowd, marking another proud moment for Malaysian motorsport and highlighting the country’s growing presence on the world motorcycle racing stage.

For Azroy Anuar, this weekend’s race will mark his third Moto2 Wild Card appearance, having previously competed in the Malaysian Grands Prix in 2022 and 2023 with the Petronas RW Racing Team. Known for his aggressive yet calculated riding style, Azroy has been steadily building experience on the international circuit and now aims to make the most of his opportunity under the Petronas MIE Honda banner.

Meanwhile, Helmi Azman will also make his third consecutive Wild Card appearance in Moto2. The 27-year-old Malaysian rider competed in the 2023 and 2024 Malaysian Grands Prix, finishing 23rd in both races — a consistent showing that underlines his determination and steady improvement.

Helmi, who has a strong record in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), expressed pride and optimism ahead of his return to Sepang.

This year’s Malaysian GP also marks a new milestone for both riders — it will be the first time Azroy and Helmi race with Honda machinery in Moto2, after previously competing with Kalex bikes.

The switch is significant for the Petronas MIE Honda Racing Team as they aim to showcase the competitiveness of Honda’s Moto2 platform on home soil.

The Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit has long been a festival of speed and national pride, and the inclusion of two local riders in Moto2 will undoubtedly energize the passionate home crowd.

With both Azroy Anuar and Helmi Azman donning Malaysian colors on the global stage, the weekend promises to be a celebration of local talent, resilience, and the continued partnership between PETRONAS, MIE Honda, and Malaysian motorsport development.

The Moto2 Malaysian Grand Prix takes place this weekend (October 24–26, 2025) at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with qualifying scheduled for Saturday and the main race on Sunday.
