Indonesia national futsal team opened their ASEAN Futsal Championship 2026 campaign in emphatic fashion with a commanding 7-0 victory over Brunei national futsal team in their Group B opener at Nonthaburi PAO Gymnasium, Nonthaburi.
The match saw Indonesia dominate from start to finish under head coach Hector Souto, sending a strong early message to their regional rivals.
Rising star Muhammad Sanjaya delivered a sensational performance on his debut, scoring a hat-trick to lead Indonesia’s goal rush. Wearing the No.10 jersey, Sanjaya wasted no time making an impact, showcasing his attacking instincts and finishing ability in a memorable first appearance.
Forward Andarias Kareth also impressed with a brace, adding two goals to Indonesia’s tally with a lively performance throughout the match.
The remaining goals came from Muhammad Imam Anshori and Dewa Rizki Amanda, completing a comprehensive victory for the Southeast Asian powerhouse.
The emphatic win sees Indonesia climb to the top of Group B with three points, giving them a strong start in their quest for the regional futsal crown.
However, their next challenge will come quickly, as Souto’s side returns to action against Malaysia national futsal team in their second group match on Tuesday (April 7) at the same venue.
