The 2026 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) calendar has undergone an important adjustment, with Round 5 at Sepang International Circuit officially rescheduled one week earlier to ensure smooth preparations for Formula 1’s return to Malaysia.
In a joint statement, Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Asia and Two Wheels Motor Racing (TWMR) confirmed that the Sepang round will now be held from September 4–6, 2026, instead of its original dates of September 11–13.
According to the organisers, the schedule revision has been made to accommodate the extensive logistics and circuit preparations required ahead of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, which is scheduled to take place at Sepang International Circuit from October 2–4, 2026.
By moving the ARRC event forward by one week, the championship will avoid disrupting the circuit’s transition into Formula 1 mode while allowing Sepang’s operations team sufficient time to prepare the venue for one of the world’s biggest motorsport events.
The decision reflects close cooperation between TWMR, Sepang International Circuit, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure both events can be delivered successfully.
TWMR confirmed it is working closely with the circuit and championship partners to ensure the revised schedule has minimal impact on teams, freight movements, and operational planning throughout the remainder of the season.
Despite the short-notice adjustment, organisers remain confident that the championship will continue without significant disruption.
FIM Asia and TWMR also expressed their gratitude to teams, riders, sponsors, commercial partners, and supporters for their understanding and flexibility.
The organisers acknowledge that changing race dates creates logistical challenges and apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for your continued support as we prepare for another important weekend at Sepang.
