Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik lived up to expectations by booking their place in the Arctic Open 2025 final after a commanding straight-games victory over Thailand’s Kittinupong Kedren and Dechapol Puavaranukroh in the semifinals at the Vantaa Energia Areena today.
The world No. 4 and top seeds of the tournament were in imperious form, dispatching the eighth-seeded Thai duo 21–15, 21–14 in just 23 minutes, displaying sharp coordination, precision smashes, and clinical control at the net.
The victory puts Aaron–Wooi Yik just one step away from their fourth title of the 2025 season, following their earlier triumphs at the Badminton Asia Championships, Thailand Open, and Singapore Open.
Awaiting them in tomorrow’s championship match are Ben Lane and Sean Vendy of England, who advanced to the final after defeating Malaysia’s other pair, Choong Hon Jian and Muhammad Haikal Nazri, in straight games 21–16, 25–23.
Aaron and Wooi Yik, the reigning 2022 World Champions, have been in dominant form throughout the tournament, combining relentless attack with confident defensive play — a performance that signals their hunger to finish the year strong on the BWF World Tour.
