Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors tied Ulsan Hyundai, scoring 1-1 in the AFC Champions League 2023/24 Quarter-Final first leg at Jeonju World Cup Stadium, Jeonju.
Even after the game started, the center of the issue was Kim Tae-hwan. In the 4th minute of the first half, when Song Min-gyu scored the first goal in Jeonbuk’s counterattack, which started from Kim Tae-hwan’s pass, Song Min-gyu ran to the opposite side and carried Kim Tae-hwan on his back. Colleagues also shared the joy with Kim Tae-hwan.
Afterwards, fans of both teams gave mixed reactions to Kim Tae-hwan’s every action. When Kim Tae-hwan complained to the referee about Ulsan Kim Min-hyuk’s foul and asked him to issue a warning, boos poured in from Ulsan fans.
Even when Kim Tae-hwan encouraged the crowd to cheer before the start of the second half, Jeonbuk fans applauded, while Ulsan away fans booed even louder.
In the end, the game was tied at 1-1 in the 32nd minute of the second half when Ulsan Lee Young-jae scored the tying goal.
In the second match, Ulsan Hyundai will play as home team on 12 March at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium, Ulsan.
