Preparations for Round 3 of the 2026 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) have encountered an unexpected challenge after championship promoter Two Wheels Motor Racing (TWMR) confirmed that the upcoming event at Mobility Resort Motegi could be affected by the arrival of Typhoon Jangmi, which is currently impacting several regions across Japan.
The third round of the season is scheduled to take place from June 12-14 at the iconic Mobility Resort Motegi, but severe weather conditions have already begun disrupting transportation networks and logistical operations throughout the country.
According to reports, numerous areas across Japan, including the capital city of Tokyo, have been affected by the powerful typhoon.
The storm has reportedly left more than 60,000 households without electricity, while airlines have been forced to cancel approximately 900 domestic and international flights, impacting over 90,000 passengers.
In addition, rising water levels in several rivers have reached dangerous thresholds, prompting authorities to remain on high alert as weather conditions continue to evolve.
The situation has also led to temporary closures at several ports, creating significant concerns for freight movement and equipment transportation ahead of one of Asia’s premier motorcycle racing events.
In an official communication, TWMR informed teams, riders, partners, and stakeholders that preparations for the Motegi round have already been affected by the typhoon’s impact.
One of the biggest concerns surrounds the transportation of race equipment, machinery, and team infrastructure, with shipping schedules potentially facing delays due to temporary port shutdowns and disruptions to freight services.
For championship teams competing across categories such as ASB1000, SS600, AP250, and UB150, the timely delivery of motorcycles, spare parts, and technical equipment is crucial to maintaining normal race weekend operations.
Any significant delays could place additional pressure on teams as they prepare for one of the most anticipated rounds of the season.
Despite the challenges, championship organizers have reassured competitors that contingency measures are already being implemented.
TWMR confirmed it is working closely with all relevant logistics partners and service providers to reduce disruptions and ensure preparations continue as smoothly as possible.
The organizer remains committed to delivering a successful event while monitoring weather developments and transportation conditions across Japan.
At this stage, no changes have been announced regarding the race schedule, and preparations for the Motegi weekend continue.
