The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially pulled the plug on the West Region’s knockout calendar. Following the initial postponement of the first-leg matches on March 1, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed today that the second-leg ties are also off the table until further notice.
With regional safety and security reaching a critical tipping point, the governing body is taking no chances with the lives of players, officials, or fans.
The “Wait and See” approach has officially shifted to a full-scale postponement for matches originally scheduled between March 9 and March 11, 2026.
AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE): All Round of 16 second-leg matches in the West Region.
AFC Champions League Two (ACL2): All Quarter-final second-leg matches involving West Region teams.
AFC Challenge League: All Quarter-final second-leg matches involving West Region teams.
While the West Region is under a sporting blackout, it is business as usual for the other half of the continent.
NOTICE: All matches involving clubs from the East Region across all AFC competitions will proceed exactly as originally scheduled.
