Kelantan TRW secured a valuable three points after defeating Brunei DPMM 2-1 in a hard-fought Liga Super Malaysia 2025/26 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas.
The home side, Brunei DPMM, fielded Haimie Abdullah between the posts with Ramadhan Sananta leading the attack and captain Azwan Ali Rahman marshalling the midfield.
Kelantan, meanwhile, lined up with Azfar Arif in goal and relied on star striker Ifedayo Omosuyi, who also wore the captain’s armband.
Both sides looked lively in the opening exchanges but struggled to find the breakthrough. Kelantan eventually drew first blood in the 36th minute when Ifedayo showcased his trademark finishing to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
Six minutes later, Azam Azih doubled TRW’s advantage with a stunning strike past Haimie Abdullah, sending the away fans into raptures and ensuring Kelantan went into the break leading 2-0.
After the restart, Brunei DPMM intensified their pressure and were rewarded in the 51st minute when Jordan Rodrigues pulled one back to lift the home crowd’s spirits.
Despite their relentless push for an equalizer, DPMM were repeatedly denied by Kelantan’s disciplined defending, with Azfar Arif standing tall in goal.
The closing stages saw both sides increase the tempo, but Kelantan held firm to secure a 2-1 win. The result marked Brunei DPMM’s fourth defeat of the Super League season, while Kelantan celebrated a morale-boosting away victory.
