Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially announced that the Unifi Piala Malaysia 2024/25 Final between Johor Darul Ta’zim vs Sri Pahang FC will take place on 12 April 2025 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
The decision was made after considering the Malaysia League calendar and JDT’s ongoing campaign in the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE). The Southern Tigers have secured a place in the round of 16, with the second leg scheduled for 4 March 2025. Should they advance to the quarter-finals, their next match is expected to be on 25 April 2025.
Setting the Malaysia Cup Final on this date allows JDT to focus on the ACLE knockout stage, which is crucial in gaining points for Malaysia’s AFC club ranking. The MFL has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysian clubs competing on the international stage and confirmed that the date selection was agreed upon with Sri Pahang FC.
Another key factor in finalizing 12 April 2025 was the availability of SNBJ, ensuring an ideal venue to accommodate thousands of passionate fans. The stadium will undergo field improvements after the final, making this date the last opportunity to host the event before the upgrade.
Additionally, the rescheduling of the Piala Malaysia Final will lead to amendments in the Liga Super Malaysia fixture list, particularly for weeks 25 and 26.
